Royals-Cubs delayed, then suspended by rain

July 2, 2004 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

OMAHA – The Omaha Royals game with the Iowa Cubs began at 8:08 p.m. Friday night – after a 1:03 rain delay – was delayed again 16 minutes later after the Cubs had taken a 4-0 lead with two outs in the top of the first inning. At 9:37 p.m., the game was suspended, meaning it will have to be completed from where it was left off. The completion of the suspended game is scheduled for Iowa’s next visit to Rosenblatt Stadium, on Thursday, August 26 at 4:05 p.m. and will be followed by a seven-inning regularly scheduled contest. The two clubs will still play a single game on Saturday, July 3, at 6:05 p.m., followed by the 20th annual Omaha World-Herald Fireworks show.
