Walleye Notes
- Past Week Performance! Toledo started the season on a high note with a 4-1 win Saturday night against Kalamazoo. Goaltender Petr Mrazek made 33 saves on 34 shots to win his professional debut. Saturday was the first time the Walleye has been victorious in its home opener (0-3 in the previous three years). Toledo had scored a total of two goals in the three previous home openers, but scored four Saturday night.
- Packing the House! For the fourth straight season a standing room only crowd was on hand to witness the Walleye home opener (8,000). A total of 32,250 fans have visited the Huntington Center for the four home openers. That is an average of 8,063 per contest.
- Max Time! Walleye forward Max Campbell led the way for Toledo Saturday night. His debut in a Walleye uniform was outstanding with a pair of goals plus an assist. Line mate Andrej Nestrasil finished the contest with a goal and two assists and Travis Novak assisted on two of the goals.
- Gametime! The Walleye will play twice this coming week against two division rivals. The Cincinnati Cyclones will be in Toledo for a match Friday night. Toledo holds an All-Time record of 47-32-7 against the Cyclones. On Saturday night, Toledo will be in Kalamazoo for its first road test of the season.
