CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors season is underway. With a difficult three-in-three to open the season, Bakersfield holds a 1-2-0-0 record with 2pts after two games in San Francisco and their Home Opener on Sunday. Every team in the Pacific Division has just one win in the standings after Opening Weekend, and Utah has the early Western Conference lead with two wins.

Condors 4 vs. SAN FRANCISCO 3

Bakersfield staked themselves to a 4-1 lead and held on to spoil the Bulls home opener. G Brian Stewart claimed the win between the pipes, while C Levi Nelson racked up 1g-2a, including the first goal of the season for Bakersfield. F Zach Cohen also had 1g-2a. F Robby Dee scored on a second period penalty shot as well.

SAN FRANCISCO 6 vs. Condors 5

The Bulls picked up their first-ever win in a wild contest that saw seven goals scored in the second frame and Bakersfield rack up four special teams tallies. Three Condors had multi-point games, and Bakersfield recorded five goals on their first 13 shots of the night. They scored three power play tallies and added a shorthanded goal as well in the loss.

Attn: 4,510

F Parker Stanfield scored twice, including the equalizer early in the third to make it 2-2, but the Wranglers bounced b ack to regain the lead less than a minute later and held on for the win. G Brian Stewart made 30 saves on the night, and F Evan Tr upp notched two assists in the loss.

NOTES: Seven players recorded multiple point games for the Condors on the weekend, including two three-point games by C Levi Nelson.Nelson leads the ECHL in scoring with six points, despite being held off the scoresheet on Sunday. The Condors were the only team in the ECHL to play three games last weekend.F Robby Dee had the first penalty shot attempt in the league this season, and scored. Bakersfield has scored on back-to-back penalty shot attempts for the first time since 2004.Bakersfield is tied for the early league lead with two shorthanded goals. Dee and F David Toews both scored "shorties" in San Francisco.Four of the Condors first five games are against San Francisco, as the Bulls come to town for two games this weekend.

Thursday evening is the season debut of Condors Insider on Fox Sports Radio 970AM. The show, hosted by broadcasters Ryan Holt and Kevin Bartl, features interviews with Condors players and coaches, team and league news and more. Condors Insider airs from 6 - 7 p.m.

Fathead Giveaway & Star Wars Night this weekend

The Condors return to home ice next weekend with Friday and Saturday night matchups against the San Francisco Bulls. Friday night the first 2,000 kids 12 and under will get a set of Condors Fathead stickers, sponsored by My 45, Hot Hits 93.1 and Reliable Moving & Storage.

On Saturday characters from the Star Wars films will be in the house to meet fans and pose for pictures in the Condors Photo Booth. In addition, everyone will receive a Condors Magnet Schedule, sponsored by La Campesina and Fastrip. Before Saturday's game, the Bakersfield Downtown Business Association will host a Party on the Plaza, starting at 4 p.m., featuring food and drinks, games, sponsor booths and more. After the game Saturday, all Season Ticket Holders are welcome to stick around for a Meet the Team Party.
