
Toglia Hits 15th Home Run in Yard Goats' Loss

Manchester, NH- The Fisher Cats used a five-run fifth inning to break a 6-6 tie, and defeated the Hartford Yard Goats 11-6 on Wednesday evening at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire. The Yard Goats trailed 5-1 in the sixth inning and 6-3 in the seventh, before tying the game on back-to-back home runs by Hunter Stovall and Daniel Montano. Rafael Lantigua belted a go-ahead three-run homer in the eighth inning, his first of the season to put New Hampshire in front for good. Michael Toglia blasted his 15th home run of the season, a two-run shot in the sixth inning.
The Yard Goats scored the first run of the game in the third inning, as Daniel Montano got in a rundown between first and second base, allowing Kyle Datres to score from third to make it 1-0. The Fisher Cats responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning highlighted by a three-run double by Trevor Shwecke. New Hampshire added a run in the fifth inning as Orelvis Martinez led off the inning with a home run off Hartford starter Tony Locey.
Trailing 5-1 in the sixth, the Yard Goats made it a 5-3 game as Michael Toglia smashed a two-run homer over the left field fence. It was his team-leading 15th of the season. New Hampshire scored a run in the bottom of the inning on Rafael Lantigua's RBI double to make it 6-3.
The Yard Goats tied the game with three runs in the seventh inning off reliever Gabriel Ponce. Hunter Stovell belted a two-run homer, and Daniel Montero followed with a solo home run and it was 6-6 after seven innings. Hartford reliever Fineas Del Bonta Smith retired all four batters faced with three strikeouts.
The Fisher Cats broke the 6-6 tie in the eighth inning, as Lantigua hit a three-run homer off Stephen Jones, and Martinez hit his second homer of the game off Jared Biddy to make it 11-6.
The Yard Goats continue their six-game series on Thursday night (7:05 PM) at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire. RHP Michael Baird will start for the Yard Goats and RHP Yosver Zulueta will start for the Fisher Cats. The broadcast can be heard on AM 1410 WPOP and FM 100.9 and on the iheart radio app. The Yard Goats return to Dunkin' Donuts Park on Tuesday, July 12th (7:05 PM) and will host the Washington Nationals affiliate, the Harrisburg Senators.
