
Rafaela Selected to Participate in SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game

Portland, Maine- Portland Sea Dogs' outfielder Ceddanne Rafaela has been selected to participate in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game. The game will be held on Saturday, July 16, at Dodger Stadium.
Rafaela was one of the first eight participants to be named. The complete Futures Game rosters will be announced Thursday on MLB Network, SiriusXM.
Rafaela is ranked by MLB.com as the #26 prospect in the Red Sox organization. He joined the Sea Dogs on June 7th and in 23 games he has hit .278 with five doubles, a triple, six home runs and 18 RBI. Prior to joining the Sea Dogs, Rafaela appeared in 45 games with Single-A Greenville, where he hit .330 with nine home runs, 36 RBI, and 14 stolen bases.
The 21-year-old righty was the Red Sox 2021 Minor League Defensive Player of the Year.
The Willemstad, Curacao resident was signed as an international free agent by the Red Sox on July 2, 2017.
The 2022 Futures Game showcases the top Minor League prospects. It will once again feature a National League vs. American League format. The game, which is scheduled for seven innings, will begin at 7 p.m. ET exclusively on Peacock and SiriusXM.
Two-time World Series Champion and World Series-winning manager Mike Scioscia will lead the NL squad, while fellow World Series Champion and 2007 NL Most Valuable Player Jimmy Rollins will manage the AL team.
