Trenton Devils News Release

READING, PA - The Trenton Titans' come-from-behind magic fell short for the first time this season as they lost in overtime, 2-1, to the Reading Royals in front of 7,024 at the Sovereign Center. The opposing team got the first goal for third consecutive game as Eric Werner tallied his first professional goal at 11:52 of the second period. It looked as though the Titans would be able to comeback once agains with the help of Mathieu Brunelle's second goal in as many games. Chris Pittman fired a pass from the corner boards to a wide-open Brunelle, who chipped it past Cody Rudkowsky at 4:47 of the third. The two teams would remain scoreless for the remainder of the final frame and head into overtime. In the ensuing period, Rich Peverly picked up a loose puck in front of Scott Stirling and shot it top corner to clinch the game for the Royals. Stirling suffered his first loss stopping 35 of 37. Rudkowsky goes to 2-0-0 turning away 19 of 20 shots by the Titans. Though scoreless in six power play chances, Trenton went a perfect 9-for-9 on the penalty kill. The Trenton Titans host the Victoria Salmon Kings for their first ever meeting on Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00pm. Wednesday's game is Dollar Dog Night courtesy of Dietz & Watson.
