Ice Pilots Lost Shootout 3-2

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots lost a 3-2 shootout vs. Greenville on Friday night at the Bilo Center in Greenville, South Carolina. After the game, the Ice Pilots announced that defenseman Colin Peters has been recalled to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League. Peters has played in all three games for the Ice Pilots this season.

The Ice Pilots had a 1-0 lead after the first period on a power play goal by Brian Collins at the 7:27 mark assisted by Corey Neilson and Brendan Cook. The Grrrowl came out strong in the opening period as they had 20 shots on goal compared to the Ice Pilots 8.

After a scoreless second period, Brendan Cook scored for the Ice Pilots at the 4:51 mark to give the Ice Pilots a 2-0 lead. However, Greenville would get goals by Brock Radunske at 12:39 of the third period and a power play goal by Colin Pepperall at 18:37 to force an overtime.

The game went to a shootout with Greenville winning in six rounds. Colin Pepperall scored the game winner in the sixth round of the shootout. The Ice Pilots had 23 shots on goal, 33 penalty minutes and went 1-4 on the power play. Greenville had 61 shots on goal, 23 penalty minutes and went 1-9 on the power play. Frederic Cloutier picked up the shootout loss in goal for the Ice Pilots and Mike Brodeur picked up the win in goal for Greenville.

The Ice Pilots will play home Saturday night vs. Augusta at 7:05 p.m. It is Pink Hat Night on Saturday night. Fans can purchase an Ice Pilots Pink Hat with the proceeds going to the Baptist Health Care Foundation's Free Mammogram program.
