Bombers Rally For Thrilling Victory In Toledo

Toledo, OH - After scoring first, the Bombers allowed three straight goals, then rallied to force overtime and a shootout. Jay Latulippe scored the only goal in the shootout as the Bombers dumped Toledo 4-3.

After a scoreless first period, Brian Gornick opened the scoring with his third goal of the season at 4:41 of the second period. Goals from Adam Keefe (8:13) and Jeff Attard (11:32) gave the Storm a 2-1 lead at the end of 40 minutes.

Robert Snowball sent a backhand shot under the crossbar at 14:51 of the third period, giving Toledo a 3-1 lead. But with 2:43 remaining, Bombers rookie defenseman Tyson Teplitsky scored his first professional goal to pull Dayton within one, 3-2. And Jeff Szwez buried a rebound with :21 seconds left to tie the game, 3-3.

There was no scoring in overtime. Jay Latulippe, the first shooter for Dayton, scored the only goal in the shootout lifting Dayton to the 4-3 victory. Gornick ended the night with 1 goal, 2 assists and 3 points, while Mike Ayers recorded the win in goal. Toledo outshot Dayton, 32-29.

The Dayton Bombers, proud "AA" affiliate of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets, will celebrate their 15th Anniversary this season.
