
Titans continue winning ways

TRENTON, NJ â The Titans came into the week of play in seventh place and looking to capitalize on last weekend's sweep of the Wheeling Nailers and Roanoke Express.
Trenton started the week early, as in 10:30am early, with their "School Day" game on Thursday against the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. Those in attendance were treated to an exciting game in which the Titans came back twice to tie the score, but ultimately lost to the Bullies in shootout, 4-3.
The Titans rebounded nicely the next evening, scoring three power play goals in the first period on the way to a 4-1 win over the Dayton Bombers on Friday night
Looking to extend their undefeated streak to five, the faced off against the Augusta on Saturday. It turned out to be a historical night for Mathieu Brunelle who tied an ECHL season high with six points and set a Titans record with five goals in an 8-5 victory over the Lynx.
The Titans find themselves now in sole possession of sixth place in the Northern Division as they head west for a five-game road-trip. The Titans start the week early on Tuesday, February 3 at 7:05pm against the Las Vegas Wranglers. Trenton then continues on to play two against the Fresno Falcons on Wednesday, February 4 and Friday, February 6. The puck drops for both games at 7:00pm. The Titans finish it off at Sovereign Bank Arena when they face off against the Augusta Lynx on Saturday, January 31 at 7:00pm.

Thursday, January 29 vs. Atlantic City â 10:30am SO-L 4-3 Sovereign Bank Arena
- The puck dropped at 10:30am on Thursday for the Titans "School Day" game versus the Bullies. It was the Titans who got the wake up call as John Cullen and Jim Henkel each scored power play goals in the first period to give the Bullies a 2-0 lead. The Titans came back to tie it early in the second on goals Tyler Kindle and Dan Riva. The Bullies would take the lead again on Cullen's second goal of the morning. Matt Zultek's team leading 18th goal knotted it up in the third period and sent it to OT. After a scores extra frame, Jake Moreland stoned all four Titans in the shootout and Luke Curtin got the game winner for Atlantic City. Houle, making his first start since Dec. 6 made 27 saves in the shootout loss.
Friday, January 30 vs. Dayton â 7:30pm W 4-1 Sovereign Bank Arena
- The Titans struck early and often on the power play, going a perfect 3 for 3 with the man advantage in the first period with Ryan Crane, Chris Pittman and Matt Zutlek tickling the twine. Fraser Clair would notch a shorthanded goal for the Dayton Bombers in the second period to cut the Titans lead to two goals. Mathieu Brunelle sealed the game with an empty-netter, giving the Titans a 4-1 victory. Brunelle finished with a career high four points on one goal and three assists. Andrew Allen made 34 saves for his third win a row.
Saturday, January 31 vs. Augusta â 7:00pm W 8-5 Sovereign Bank Arena
- The Titans scored a season high eight goals on a historic night where Mathieu Brunelle set Titans records with five goals in a game and three goals in the first period in a six point night for the rookie left winger. The Titans were all over the Lynx from the drop of the puck as Brunelle notched the hat trick and BJ Kilbourne added another for a 4-1 lead after one period. Louis Goulet would help keep Augusta close with a hat trick of his own, but the Titans lead to was too much to overcome as Trenton came away with the 8-5 win. Matt Zultek also tallied a goal and three assists on the evening.

first goal Saturday night versus the Lynx.
