November 11, 2018 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Everett Silvertips News Release

KENT, Wash. - Connor Dewar scored twice and the Everett Silvertips pounded the first 18 shots on net to crush the Seattle Thunderbirds in a 5-1 victory on Saturday night before 5,089 fans at accesso ShoWare Center in WHL action.

The Tips won their sixth straight road game, and eight of the last ten away from home ice, to maintain a three point lead for first place in the U.S. Division. Dewar earned his 32nd multi point game of his career while the Silvertips scored four unanswered goals, at one point outshooting the Thunderbirds, 18-0 in the first period.

UP NEXT: The Tips go for three wins in three days in a sequence visiting Kamloops, Kent, then back to Kamloops, a 5pm Sunday game against the host Blazers at Sandman Centre (1380 AM / 95.3 FM / Tips App). The Tips return home next Wednesday, 7:05pm against the Portland Winterhawks at A.O.T.W. Arena. Tickets are on sale at www.everettsilvertips.com/tickets.

Dewar opened the game up with a breakaway goal at 2:57 into the first off a pass from Bryce Kindopp and Ian Walker. Silvertips forward Jalen Price then netted his first career WHL goal to put the Silvertips up 2-0 at 7:44 into the first with assists from Wyatte Wylie and Gage Goncalves (first career WHL point).

The Silvertips dominant play continued as Wylie scored at 18:19 with a shot from the point off assist from Silvertip forward Martin Fasko-Rudas and center Riley Sutter. Fasko-Rudas muscled his way past the Seattle defense then whipped a pass back to the point, hammered to the back of the net by Wylie.

Everett's stingy defense carried over into the second period where the Tips killed three penalties and goaltender Dustin Wolf stopped all 14 shots faced in that period. Dewar put the Tips up 4-0 at 5:59 of the third period when he walked out from the right corner and blasted a snap shot past Hughes for his 14th goal of the season.

Reece Harsch spoiled Dustin Wolf's shutout (25 saves) bid on a power play goal with 6:53 left in regulation on a blast from the right point, but Bryce Kindopp finished the Thunderbirds with an empty netter with 14 seconds left in regulation.

Wolf's counterpart, Liam Hughes, stopped 36 shots.
