ICE Conclude Busy Weekend with Trip to Calgary

Cranbrook, B.C. - The Kootenay ICE (6-11-2-1) wrap up a busy weekend with a trip to Calgary (5-12-2-0) and a date against the Hitmen on Sunday, November 11.

Puck drop is scheduled for 4 p.m. MT.

The ICE are coming off of a 2-1 loss to the Saskatoon Blades on Saturday, November 10. Cole Muir scored the lone goal of the game for the ICE, which was unassisted. Goaltender Jesse Makaj stopped 24-of-26 shots he faced. The Blades received goals from Gary Haden and Seth Bafaro. The ICE outshot the Blades 32-26. They went 0-for-5 on the power play, 2-for-3 on the penalty kill and won 37-of-67 face-offs.

The ICE have amassed 15 points this season, which is good for fifth in the Central Division and ninth in the Eastern Conference.

The ICE have a road record of 2-5-1-1.

The Calgary Hitmen host the Kootenay ICE for the first time this season on Sunday, November 11. This will be the second meeting of the season between the two Central Division rivals. Following Sunday's game, the Hitmen head out onto the road for seven-straight games, including stops in Cranbrook, Spokane, Everett, Portland, Seattle, Tri-City and Red Deer. The road trip will last from November 16-30. The next home game for the Hitmen is December 1 against the Edmonton Oil Kings.

The Hitmen are coming off of a 4-2 loss to the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday, November 9. Luke Coleman and Josh Prokop netted the goals for the Hitmen while Egor Zamula, Vladislav Yeryomenko and Riley Stotts picked up the assists. Goaltender Carl Stankowski stopped 15-of-19 shots he faced. The Hitmen outshot the 'Canes 36-19. They went 0-for-1 on the power play, 1-for-1 on the penalty kill and won 35-of-56 face-offs.

The Hitmen have collected 12 points this season, which is good for sixth in the Central Division and 11th in the Eastern Conference.

The Hitmen have a home record of 2-6-2-0.

HEAD TO HEAD

This is the second meeting of the season between the ICE and the Hitmen. The next time these two teams meet will be November 16 in Cranbrook.

The ICE have are 2-6-0-3 in its last 11 games against the Hitmen in Calgary. Overall, both home and away, the ICE are 6-12-1-3 in the last 22 games against the Hitmen.
