
Silvertips Slide Past T-Birds on Military Appreciation Night

KENT - The Everett Silvertips defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 5-1 Saturday night in front of 5,089 fans at accesso ShoWare Center on Military Appreciation Night.
The T-Birds wore special Military themed jerseys for the game and had a special puck drop ceremony with two local military veterans, one of whom was 98-years old and served in the US Navy in Honululu, Hawaii, during World War II and one of whom served 20-years in the United States Marine Corps.
Outreach And Research Services (OARS), a group that provides female military veterans the support and resources needed when reentering civilian life were the beneficiaries of the jersey auction of the Military jerseys worn by the T-Birds in the game.
The T-Birds host the Spokane Chiefs on a Tuesday, November 13, at 7:05pm at accesso ShoWare Center. It's a 2-for-Tuesday game that features two-for-one ticket and beers prices and $2 hot dogs, soda and popcorn.
Everett (12-6-0-0) took a 1-0 lead at 2:57 of the first period on a goal by Connor Dewar. Bryce Kindopp and Ian Walker had the assists.
The Silvertips went in front 2-0 at 7:44 of the first when Jalen Price scored off assists from Wyatte Wylie and Gage Goncalves.
A Wylie shot at 18:19 of the first deflected off a T-Bird stick and past Seattle goalie Liam Hughes to give the Silvertips a 3-0 lead.
Dewar scored at 5:59 of the third period to make it a 4-0 Everett lead.
Seattle (7-7-2-0) got on the board at 13:07 of the third on the power play. Jake Lee crossed the puck to Reece Harsch at the right point. Harsch took a wrist shot with traffic in front of Everett goalie Dustin Wolf. The shot beat Wolf low on the blocker side. Dillon Hamaliuk had the second assist.
Bryce Kindopp scored an empty-net goal at 19:44 of the third for Everett's fifth goal.
Everett outshot Seattle 41-26 in the game.
Hughes had 36 saves on 40 shots.
Wolf made 25 saves on 26 shots.
Single game tickets are on sale online on the T-Birds website and at the accesso ShoWare Center box office.
The T-Birds are now taking orders for Flex-24 Ticket packages. Fans that purchase the 24-Flex Ticket Package will be able to select any available premium seat for any game, in any ticket combination, during the 2018-19 season.
