FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Rymer Liriano displayed his speed and power while the TinCaps' pitching staff was in control in a 3-2 win over the Burlington Bees. Liriano homered and scored twice.

LHP Mark Hardy went six innings and allowed two runs, then the bullpen trio of RHPs Deiber Sanchez, Adam Dominick and Chris Franklin each worked a scoreless inning to finish it out.

In the first, Liriano reached on a fielder's choice and stole second. When the catcher's throw sailed into center field, Liriano went to third. He scored when Luis Domoromo singled to right making it 1-0.

The Bees got on the board in the fifth when Royce Consigli smashed a solo homer to tie the game.

In the sixth, Liriano led off by hitting a monster home run to left. Two batters later, Connor Powers smashed his first home run of the year to make it 3-1.

The Bees closed the gap in the bottom of the inning when Douglas Landaeta roped a two-out RBI double. But the bullpen took it from there and Franklin induced a game-ending flyout with the winning run at the plate in the ninth.

Hardy (6-7) received the win. Bees RHP Jose Macias (2-2) pitched well but took the loss. Franklin notched his second save of the year.

The TinCaps improved to 8-11 in the half, 38-50 for the season. Burlington fell to 6-13 since the all-star break, 51-38 for the year.

The TinCaps and Bees (Class-A Oakland Athletics) continue the series Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Community Field. Fort Wayne RHP Adys Portillo (1-8) gets the starting nod against Bees RHP Blake Hassebrock (4-5).
