MONDAY NIGHT: The TinCaps fell, 4-2, in the finale of their four-game series against Lansing. Fort Wayne split the four-game series, 2-2, against the Lugnuts. Mason Thompson threw five innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 walk and 2 runs, while striking out 3.

MARVELOUS MARGEVICIUS: Nick Margevicius, a Midwest League All-Star, ranks in multiple MWL categories: 10th in ERA (3.16), 3rd in total Ks (73), 2nd in K/9 (11.53), 2nd in BB/9 (1.42). Nick posted a 2.16 ERA in 4 starts in the month of May, striking out 30 batters in 25 innings while only walking 3. In 9 out of 10 starts this season, Margevicius has 6 or more strikeouts, including 3 games with 9 Ks... He's also 1st in FIP (2.11), 1st in K/BB (8.11), 2nd in K% (30%), 2nd in BB% (3%). Batters have swung and missed at 12% of his pitches (11th highest in the league).

RUIZ ON TRACK: Esteury Ruiz was 9 for his last 57 coming into Saturday night's game. In the last 3 games, Ruiz is 6-for-14 with 2 doubles, a home run, 5 RBIs, 6 runs scored & a walk. Here is what TinCaps manager Anthony Contreras had to say after Sunday's game: "Everybody goes through these slumps, but you have to be able to continue to put in your work in the cages and stick with your routine. He's a very advanced hitter for someone his age (19), and I'm sure it had to be eating at him not to have the type of success that he is capable of."

ROAD WOES: The TinCaps are 11-20 away from home this season slashing .222/.306/.31 compared to 17-14 at home while slashing .258/.348/.364.

HEATING UP: Justin Lopez slashed .267/.315/.465 in the month of May after slashing .197/.265/.246 in April. Lopez had 4 doubles, 2 triples, and all 3 of his home runs in the month along with 9 RBIs. Luis Campusano slashed .304/.380/.377 in the month of May after batting .267/.313/.350 in April.

CLUTCH HITTING: Tirso Ornelas is slashing .320/.427/.505 with 4 doubles, 1 triple and 4 home runs with runners on base. Ornelas is tied for 2nd on the team with 25 RBIs this season. Ornelas, a left-handed batter, is hitting .313 against lefties this season, while batting .259 against righties. Of his 5 homers this season, 2 have come against lefties. (Ornelas has 32 ABs against lefties compared to 170 ABs against right-handers.)

BURGEONING BULLPEN: TinCaps relievers have posted a 3.38 ERA over their last 43 games. In this time, the 'pen has been led by Travis Radke, Caleb Boushley, Evan Miller, and Ben Sheckler. Through the first 19 games of the year, the bullpen had a 7.47 ERA.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 8th in OBP (.394), 8th in walks (36), 5th in runs (41)... Esteury Ruiz is tied for 3th in SB (19).

ADVANCED STATS LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 6th in Line Drive % (26%) and 10th in BB% (16%)... Tirso Ornelas is tied for 6th with the lowest Swing and Miss% (7%).
