SATURDAY NIGHT: The TinCaps drubbed the Dragons, 10-1. Fort Wayne set season highs with 14 hits and 10 walks at the plate. On the mound, Emmanuel Ramirez (10) and Adrian Martinez (6) matched a season high for Ks.

TRENDING UP: The TinCaps have won 3 straight and 6 of their last 8. Fort Wayne is 10-7 since beginning the year 0-6. The 'Caps are 3-0-1 over their last 4 series.

A TINCAPS WIN WOULD: Give the them a season-best 4-game winning streak... Be their first sweep of the year... Extend Dayton's losing streak to 9 games.

ALMOST HAD 'EM: The TinCaps have led in 8 of their 13 losses.

ROSARIOHHH: Outfielder Jeisson Rosario, who's the 4th youngest player in the Midwest League, is 4th in the MWL in BB% (24%). His 20 walks are the 4th most in the league. His .488 OBP is 6th. Meanwhile, he's only struck out 13 times, so his 1.54 BB/K is 5th best. And when Rosario has put the ball into play, he's hit a line drive 32% of the time - 3rd highest in the league - compared to hitting a fly ball or ground ball. According to FanGraphs, "batters who hit a lot of line drives typically perform better than hitters who hit lots of fly balls or ground balls." And when Rosario is on base, he's a threat to run. He's 6-for-6 in stolen base bids. That ties him for 10th most in the MWL.

STREAKING: Catcher Juan Fernandez is on a 14-game on-base streak and 12-game hitting streak. Fernandez has reached base in every game he's had a plate appearance. He's hit safely in all but 1 (which was a 7-inning game when he had only 3 plate appearances). His on-base streak is tied for the 8th longest in the league so far this year while his hitting streak is 2nd longest and the longest active.

BUCKEYES BACK: The TinCaps have 2 Ohio natives in Jalen Washington and Nick Margevicius. Washington's parents (Barbara and Edward) were at last night's game. Jalen's younger brother Jevonte is a redshirt freshman catcher for Ohio University, which was in action earlier Saturday at Miami in Oxford - about 45 miles away. Washington, who went to Ohio State, is from Twinsburg - about 3 hours to the northeast. Margevicius is also from the Cleveland area and will have family here today.

PIGGYBACK: Lefty Aaron Leasher, who's started 4 games so far this season, is expected to work out of the bullpen today.

K-MAN: Nick Margevicius leads the MWL in K/9 at 13.29. He has struck out 33.3% of the batters he's faced (5th highest rate in the league). His 31 strikeouts overall rank 2nd in the circuit.

BULLPEN IMPROVEMENT: Since last Sunday, TinCaps relievers have allowed only 7 runs (all earned) in their last 27.0 innings. That works out to a 2.33 ERA. Fort Wayne's bullpen ERA was 7.73 through its first 16 games.

SOUTHPAW SUCCESS: As a team, the TinCaps are hitting .278 against lefties this year (compared to .232 vs. righties). Fort Wayne has only had 108 at-bats against southpaws (compared to 643 vs. righties). Individually, Carlos Belen has led the way against left-handers with a .571 average (8-for-14). Gabriel Arias isn't far behind at .429 (6-for-14). Luis Campusano has also thrived (.364, 4-for-11 with a home run), as has Tirso Ornelas (.333, 4-for-12, with a homer). All this said, the TinCaps are 0-4 in games in which a lefty has started against them.

GIVING BACK: Prior to Saturday's game, pitchers Nick Margevicius, Jared Carkuff, Ben Sheckler, Aaron Leasher, Travis Radke, Adrian Martinez, and Caleb Boushley signed autographs for a Dayton-area little league team that is named after the TinCaps. Players even played catch with the kids on the field.
