7th-Rounder Laws Joins Lugnuts, to Start Game 2 Today

LANSING, Mich. - In conjunction with the Toronto Blue Jays, the Lansing Lugnuts (15-7) have received pitcher Colton Laws from Extended Spring Training and transferred pitcher Kyle Weatherly to Extended.

The 22-year-old Laws, 6-foot-7 and 230 pounds, was drafted by the Blue Jays in the seventh round in 2017 out of the University of North Carolina - Charlotte. In his professional debut last year, split between Bluefield and Vancouver, he allowed only two earned runs and one walk in 15 innings, striking out 15. He will make his Lugnuts debut starting Game 2 of this afternoon's doubleheader at West Michigan.
