
Austin Hutchison promoted to Modesto Nuts

Beloit, WI - The Clinton LumberKings, in conjunction with the Seattle Mariners, have announced that right-handed pitcher Austin Hutchison has been promoted to the Class High-A Modesto Nuts (FSL) and will receive RHP Scott Boches from Extended Spring Training.
Hutchison last pitched for the LumberKings on Saturday afternoon in Beloit against the Snappers. He threw 3.1 shutout innings for Clinton to settle a game that the LumberKings stormed back from down five to win 8-6. Over his five assignments in Clinton, Hutchison worked 11.2 innings and did not allow a run, a streak which was the longest on the team at the time of his promotion.
Boches, 23, comes to Clinton from Extended Spring Training as the first roster move for the LumberKings this season. The Mariners selected him in the 30th round of the 2017 MLB Draft out of Marist College, in New York. He pitched at three separate levels in the Mariners farm system during 2017. Boches made five bullpen outings for both the Double-A Arkansas Travelers and Rookie Level Arizona League Mariners, while making one appearance with the Short-Season Everett AquaSox. He combined to go 1-0, with a 5.61 ERA over his 25.2 innings of work in 2017.
The LumberKings are in Beloit for a series finale with the Beloit Snappers on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 PM with righty Ryne Inman (1-0, 0.59) taking the ball for Clinton the Snappers countering with lefty Jared Poche (0-0, 0.93).
Fans looking to listen to the call of the game can hear Erik Oas at 1:45 PM with the pregame show on 100.3 FM WCCI.
The LumberKings will take Monday off before opening a six-game home stand on Tuesday night with the first of three-games against the Bowling Green Hot Rods. Tuesday will see the return of "Two-Dollar Tuesday" to Ashford University Field. $2 tickets, $2 box seat upgrades, $2 Miller Lite & Coors Light tall boys, $2 soft drinks, $2 hot dogs, and $2 ice cream are available throughout the games.
