Asheville Tourists News Release

Tickets for the second-annual "Baseball and Beers" festival, scheduled for Saturday, August 7, from 4-8 p.m. at McCormick Field, are on sale at the Asheville Tourists box office. More than 40 different hand-crafted beers from throughout the Southeast, including many from the Asheville Brewers Alliance, will be available for sampling at the ballpark.

Four bands will play during the "Baseball and Beers" festival. Woody Wood will make an encore appearance from last year's event. Also performing will be Big Daddy Love, Soulgrass Rebellion and Simplified.

Regular admission tickets are $20, which includes entry as well as a commemorative beer mug, which can be used to sample the beers. VIP Access tickets are $40 and include access to the private suite in the Asheville Citizen-Times Clubhouse, a catered meal, a commemorative beer mug and a souvenir T-shirt. The $30 Party Pavillion tickets provide access to the Pepsi Party Pavillion, which features heavy hors d'oeuvres, a commemorative beer mug and a souvenir T-shirt. There will also be $10 designated driver tickets for those opting not to the sample the beers.

In addition to sampling the craft beers on the concourse, all attendees can relax in the McCormick Field seats to enjoy the bands. The concession stands will be open during the event. Commemorative t-shirts will be on sale for $15 each. Those attending "Baseball and Beers" must be 21 years of age.

The Tourists will not play a game at McCormick Field on the day of the event, although everyone buying a festival ticket will also receive a general admission baseball ticket, good for any remaining game during the 2010 season.
