Eric Freschi put home a backhand at 2:28 to cut the lead to 3-1. Shawn Pauly found the net at 7:35 that made it 3-2 in favor of the Thunder.
Travis Brown recorded his second goal of the season at 11:59 on the man advantage with a one-timer from the top of the right circle and made it 4-2. Three minutes later, Istvan Sofron found a rebound near the net after Doornbosch fired a one-timer and he stuffed it home for his second of the year and 5-2 lead.
Wichita tacked on a late goal with eight seconds left in the third as Travis Ewanyk recorded his fourth of the year and gave the Thunder a 6-2 lead.
The Thunder improved to 9-1 overall, which is its best start in franchise history and improved to 4-0 away from home. Beaudry had a pair of assists while Chase recorded two points (1g, 1a).
