Trenton Thunder News Release

(TRENTON, NJ) The Trenton Thunder, Double A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, are teaming up with the Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) to host the Strike Out Cancer Now tour raising awareness of the disease and how patients can win the fight against cancer.

The special event will take place during the Portland Sea Dogs game on Friday, July, 17th 2009. Cancer survivor Theresa Russo will be tossing the first pitch. Theresa Russo, a Hamilton, New Jersey resident, received the shock of her life when she discovered that she had uterine cancer in 2006. Theresa, who is a special needs teacher, was used to challenges but never thought she have to deal with something like that. Theresa found herself at Cancer Treatment Centers of America because of its whole-body approach. She liked that the doctors and nurses made her feel like a person and not a number. Today, Theresa sings the praises of CTCA to anyone who will listen.

All attendees will also receive a large "K" for a strike, to wave throughout the game, symbolizing the regional effort to strike out cancer.

Fans are invited to stroll the bases in honor of family members and friends that have been lost to cancer or are currently fighting the illness. With the Jumbotron playing video footage of participants, the Stroll of Honor will be a moving dedication and opportunity for fans to take a stand against cancer. Those interested in walking in the Stroll of Honor can register at http://www.strikeoutcancernow.com.
