New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

Manchester, NH- Fourth of July weekend at Merchantsauto.com Stadium will feature the return of the New Hampshire Primaries on Saturday, July 4, against the Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, in a 7:05pm game and a Sunday, July 5, doubleheader beginning with an exhibition game between the USA Baseball National Team and the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) All-Stars at 2:45pm, followed by a 6:35pm game between the Fisher Cats and the Sea Dogs. Fans will be able to enjoy Atlas Fireworks Shows following Saturday night's Primaries/Sea Dogs game and Sunday night's Fisher Cats/Sea Dogs game.

"We look forward to sharing a patriotic Independence Day weekend with our fans, filled with the red, white and blue of Team USA, the red, white and blue of the New Hampshire Primaries, our country's top collegiate players and the future Red Sox facing our Fisher Cats," said Fisher Cats President/General Manager Rick Brenner. "Naturally, we'll celebrate both Saturday and Sunday nights with traditional 4th of July Atlas Fireworks."

Saturday, July 4, will represent only the third time in franchise history that the Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, have suited up as the Primaries, the short-lived original name of the club. The Primaries won their Eastern League debut on August 25, 2007, defeating the Sea Dogs, 6-1, before a standing-room-only crowd of 7,712 at Merchantsauto.com Stadium.

The USA Baseball National Team is comprised of the top non-draft-eligible college players in the United States. Following their game against the NECBL All-Stars in Manchester on July 5, the National Team will head to Japan for the 37th Annual USA vs. Japan Collegiate All-Star Series, and they will conclude their summer scheduled with the World Baseball Challenge in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada.

The NECBL is one of the most talented and competitive summer collegiate baseball leagues in the country. Founded in 1993, the 12-team league has clubs in all six New England states and recruits players attending colleges from New England, the other 44 states and foreign countries.

Tickets are available for both Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5, at www.nhfishercats.com or by calling the Fisher Cats Ticket Office at (603) 641-2005. Gates open for Saturday night's Primaries/Sea Dogs game at 6:00pm, and gates open at 1:45pm on Sunday for the single-admission doubleheader of Team USA/NECBL (2:45pm) and the Fisher Cats/Sea Dogs (6:35pm). Atlas Fireworks Shows will be held on both Saturday and Sunday nights.
