Altoona Curve News Release
ALTOONA, PA -Two first inning home runs and the pitching of Bowie left hander Bobby Livingston were too much for the Curve Monday in a 5-1 loss to the Baysox at Blair County Ballpark.
Livingston (6-2) threw 7.0 innings allowing just one run on five hits with four strikeouts to pick up his sixth double-A win of the season.
Bowie's first inning homers were by Eric Crozier and Dave Krynzel, both two run blasts, to give the Baysox a 4-0 lead after one.
The Curve's lone run came on an RBI single by Brian Friday in the third inning. Friday finished the night 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
The Baysox hit their third home run of the night in the fourth inning, this time a solo shot by Ambiorix Concepcion.
Curve third baseman Pedro Alvarez did not play Monday due to knee soreness. Alvarez is still considered day-to-day.
