WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder lost 3-1 to the Colorado Eagles at the Kansas Coliseum on Saturday night.
Jason Lundmark's slapshot into traffic found the back of the net at 1:54 in the first period to give the Eagles an early 1-0 lead.
In the second, Troy Ofukany worked in front of the net before scoring on a point-blank backhander at 8:27 to tie the game. Colorado regained the lead at 11:37 in the second when Steve Haddon connected top shelf on a two-on-one.
Kevin Ulanski gave Colorado an insurance goal in the third at 1:39, also scoring on a two-on-one. Jon Horrell took the tough loss, saving 30 of 33 shots. Andrew Penners stopped 20 of 21 Thunder shots for the win. Each team went 0 for 4 on the power play.
The Thunder is back in action Sunday evening, taking on the Eagles at 5:05 p.m. at the Coliseum. For tickets, call the Thunder office at (316) 264-GOAL.
