LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League play the second game of a home and home series tonight with the Odessa Jackalopes at the Laredo Entertainment Center. The Bucks look to get back in the win column tonight after falling in a shootout to Odessa 2-1 Friday night. Laredo has earned points in their last three games, posting a 2-0-1 record.
Laredo gave up the tying goal with just 32 seconds left in the game Friday night, then fell in the seventh round of the shootout thanks to Brian Swiniarski's game-winner. Swiniarski scored the tying goal as well. J.P Levasseur stopped 36 of 37 shots in net to suffer the tough luck loss.
Going back to last seasons playoffs the Bucks and Jackalopes have played six straight one-goal games against each other, with Laredo going 0-4-2 in those contests (0-0-2 this season). Five of the last six games between the two clubs went to either overtime or a shootout.
Nine of the Bucks last 13 games have been decided by one goal. Overall this season the Bucks are 5-1-4 in one-goal contests.
The Bucks start a three-game homestand tonight, and enter the game with a 5-1-2 record on home ice this season.
Jeff Bes leads the Bucks in scoring with 22 points (7-1522).
Odessa won three of their four games on their homestand, with all four of the games decided by one-goal each.
The Jackalopes have been held without a power-play in two straight contests after scoring a power-play tally in 17 straight contests.
Dominic Leveille leads the 'Jacks in scoring with 32 points (5-2732).
