Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Las Vegas - Down 2-0 late in tonight's game against the Idaho Steelheads, the Las Vegas Wranglers bounced back with three goals in the third to win 3-2 and sweep the two-game series.

Idaho took a 1-0 lead midway through the first period on a goal from forward Derek LeBlanc, and added a second goal just 2:32 into the second from forward David Fredriksson. Las Vegas outshot Idaho 30-19 in the first two periods, but the team was unable to capitalize.

The Steelheads held the Wranglers scoreless through 50 minutes of play until a power play goal from center Chris Francis put Las Vegas on the board for a 2-1 game. Only 1:56 later, center Thomas Kiriakou scored his first professional goal on Steelheads goalie Jerry Kuhn to tie the game up with 12 minutes left in regulation. Las Vegas took their first lead of the night on a goal from center Judd Blackwater three minutes later, and with a final score of 3-2, the Wranglers battled back from a two-goal deficit to win the game and take away four standings points in Boise. Francis, Kiriakou and Blackwater each received Three Star honors for their three-goal rush in the span of 5:04 minutes.

Currently one point apart in the Western conference standings, the Wranglers continue their nine-game road series against the Ontario Reign next weekend to maintain their lead of 79 points to Ontario's 78.
