Peter Mannino Heads to Portland

Hoffman Estates, IL - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, announced today that G Peter Mannino has been assigned to the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League from the Chicago Express by the Winnipeg Jets (NHL).

Mannino, 27, played his first game for the Express on January 13 in Florida, and has started every Express game since then. In his 22 straight games played, Mannino has been in net for 1,334 minutes, and has compiled a 10-8-2-2 record with one shutout, a 3.15 goals against average and an .899 save percentage. He also set the current Express record with five consecutive victories from January 28 through February 4. His career includes 123 games in the AHL, where he has a 2.81 GAA and .904 save percentage.

The Express return to the Sears Centre Arena tonight against Toledo and tomorrow against the Wheeling Nailers. Fans can get Rally Towels, courtesy of Biggers Chevrolet of Elgin, as they enter the arena tonight. On Sunday, all fans are invited to skate with the team after the game.
