Marc Cantin and Yannick Riendeau Assigned to Reading

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Marc Cantin and forward Yannick Riendeau have been assigned by the New York Islanders from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL to the Royals. In other transactions announced today, the Royals (i) released forward Justin Kemmerer from his ECHL contract; (ii) activated forward Casey Haines from the 3-Day Injured Reserve; (iii) activated defenseman Ray Macias from the 21-Day Injured Reserve; and (iv) loaned forward Olivier Labelle to the Providence Bruins of the AHL.

The Royals take on the Elmira Jackals tonight (Saturday, March 3, 2012 @ 7:05 pm) at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania, when the Royals will also celebrate Slapshot's birthday with mascot mania. Saturday's game night broadcast will start at 6:35 pm with the Red Robin Gourmet Burger Pre-Game Warm-up Show on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Reading.
