
Three Boomers Named Frontier League All-Stars

SCHAUMBURG, IL - The two-time defending Frontier League Champion Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, are proud to announce three Boomers players have been voted into the 2015 Frontier League All-Star Game. The game will be held on Wednesday, July 15 at Boomers Stadium in Schaumburg, Illinois, and is presented by Salvi, Schostok, and Pritchard, P.C.
Among the Boomers selected is second baseman Jordan Dean, who leads all active Boomers with a .319 batting average, tied for fourth in the Frontier League with 12 doubles, and is third on the Boomers with 20 RBI. A 2014 All-Star selection as well, Dean is the Boomers all-time leader in stolen bases with 34 steals.
Also chosen to represent the West Division is Boomers ace Eddie Cody. The Boomers all-time leader in win percentage (.867), Cody is tied for third in the league with five wins this year and ranks fifth among Frontier League pitchers with a 2.63 ERA so far this year.
Rounding out the initial trio of Boomers that will get to play in front of the Boomers Stadium home crowd is catcher Michael Valadez. A 2014 All-Star who has been with the Boomers since the franchise's inception in 2012, Valadez sits atop the Boomers record book with 254 games played and 218 hits.
As part of hosting the All-Star game, the Boomers will receive an additional All-Star selection in the final managerial vote. Potential Boomers selections include infielder Mike Schulze, who holds an active 26-game on base streak, and outfielder Craig Massey, who leads the Boomers with 12 stolen bases.
The teams in first place following play on Wednesday, July 8, will have their coaching staffs selected for the All-Star Game. These field managers will make the final three selections per division, which will be announced on Thursday, July 9.
Rosters were voted on by league managers, coaches, general managers, broadcasters and members of the media who cover each club. Players were nominated by their respective field managers to be placed on the ballot.

The Frontier League is entering its 23rd season in 2015 and features 14 teams stretching from Pennsylvania to Missouri and from Kentucky to northern Michigan. The Frontier League annually advances the most players to MLB organizations of any of the independent leagues, and 27 former Frontier League players have played in the Major Leagues.
