
Thompson Returns to P-Bruins

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, member of the American Hockey League, announced that center Nate Thompson has been returned on loan from the Boston Bruins. The forward made his National Hockey League debut Saturday in Boston's 6-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres at the TD Banknorth Garden.
Thompson's call-up was the first to Boston for the P-Bruins this season. The 21-year-old is in his third professional season with Providence and second full season after four years with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League where he had 143 points (55g, 88a) in 253 contests. This year, the assistant captain has one assist thru four games. Last season, Thompson scored 18 points (8g, 10a) in 74 games. The Anchorage, Alaska, native did not play any regular season games in 2004-05 but suited up for 11 playoff games. Thompson was drafted 183rd overall (sixth round) by Boston in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
The Providence Bruins host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Friday at 7:05 p.m. at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.
