
Meet Aeros at local rinks this week

HOUSTON, Texas - "Skate with the Pros" is your chance to get up close and personal with 10 of your favorite Aeros! The event, held from 7-8 p.m. at Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center this Wednesday is FREE and open to the public.
Players will skate with fans and also sign autographs. Refreshments provided! In addition, kids from The Snowdrop Foundation will attend.
Players currently scheduled to attend (subject to change) are John Scott, Alex Leavitt, Ryan Hamilton, Peter Olvecky, Roman Voloshenko, Chris Ovington, Benoit Pouliot, Danny Irmen, Ben Thomson and Matt Foy.
"AFTERNOON WITH AN AERO" IS OCTOBER 29
HOUSTON, Texas - The Houston Aeros are proud to announce "Afternoon with an Aero", where area hockey fans can meet and greet a member of the team at one of four local ice rinks this Sunday, Oct. 29. The events, which include a public skate, are from 2-4 p.m., with players signing autographs from 3-4 p.m.
Afternoon with an Aero coincides with a new shoe drive to benefit "Shoes for Orphan Souls" (http://www.shoesfororphansouls.org/). Anyone who brings a new pair of children's shoes will receive a voucher for two tickets to the Aeros' home game on Friday, April 13, courtesy of Houston Aeros Charities.
The following players will appear at each rink from 3-4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29. (Players subject to change).

Houston Aeros Charities is dedicated to creating programs and fundraising initiatives which address the educational and physical needs of children in the Houston Gulf Coast area by establishing partnerships with social service organizations.
Shoes for Orphan Souls, which collects and distributes shoes to orphans in more than 30 countries, is one of Buckner Orphan Care International's humanitarian outreach programs. KCBI Radio in Dallas/Fort Worth started the shoes program in partnership with Children's HopeChest in 1995 as Shoes for Russian Souls, a shoe drive benefiting Russian orphans. The program collected 5,000 pairs of new shoes each year.
