Chicago Wolves News Release

The Atlanta Thrashers have assigned defenseman BRAYDON COBURN to the Chicago Wolves.

Atlanta's first pick, eighth overall, in the 2003 National Hockey League Entry Draft, COBURN joins right wing ALEX BOURRET and defenseman BORIS VALABIK as the third NHL first-rounder on the Wolves roster.

The 21-year-old blueliner has not appeared with the Thrashers this season. Last year, COBURN ranked third among Wolves defensemen with 20 assists and 26 points in 73 tilts during his rookie season. He was named to the American Hockey League's 2006 Canadian All-Star Team.

COBURN finished sixth on Chicago with 136 penalty minutes last season. He started the year with the Thrashers where he notched one assist and four penalty minutes in nine outings during his NHL debut.

The Calgary, Alberta, native made his professional debut during the 2005 Calder Cup playoffs when he skated in all 18 of Chicago's games during the team's run to the Finals, accruing up one assist and 36 penalty minutes in those contests.
