Third Period Rally Lifts Sea Wolves over Everblades 3-2

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades (14-5-4) dropped their first home game of the year in regulation 3-2 to the Mississippi Sea Wolves (12-8-4) Tuesday night in front of 4,888 at TECO arena.

Mississippi forward Brent Gauvreau (2 goals, one assist) snapped a 2-2 tie with just over ten minutes remaining when he scooped up a loose puck in the crease and lifted a backhander over Florida net minder Jeff Maund for his second goal of the night. Gauvreau helped to even the scored at two earlier in the period when he found Steffon Walby in front of the net for a tap in goal on the power play.

After falling behind 1-0 the Everblades rallied to take a 2-1 lead in the second period. Brent McDonald shot a puck out of a crowd of players and into the net for his 10th goal of the season. Florida struck again just over three minutes later when Keith Anderson's centering pass on the power play deflected off Mississippi net minder Sean Matile and into the net for his 13th goal of the year.

Maund stopped 37 of 40 shots. Mississippi goalie Sean Matile stopped 31 of 33 shots. Florida finished 1 for 5 on the power play while Mississippi went 1 for 9.

The Everblades continue their homestand on Friday, December 12th when they open up a two game series against the Columbia Inferno at TECO Arena. Game time is 7:30.
