Greensboro Generals News Release

GREENSBORO—Greensboro Generals Head Coach and General Manager Rick Adduono announced today that the franchise has received goaltender Jamie Hodson as part of a two-way contract with the St. John's Maple Leaf's of the American Hockey League.

Hodson will be reunited with Adduono for the third time in his career, and the second time in Greensboro. While with the South Carolina Stingrays in 2001-02 who Adduono guided to the Southern Conference Wildcard, Hodson recorded his career-high 20 wins, while playing 1,996 minutes, and maintaining an average of 3.01 GAA.

The 6-2, 205 lb. net minder rejoined Adduono in Greensboro last season, where he split time between the Generals and the AHL's St. John's Maple Leafs. While with Greensboro, Jamie was 9-4-1 with a 2.43 GAA, backing up Daniel Berthiaume. Appearing in 22 games for St. John's, where he 8-7-2 with a 3.38 GAA, Hodson also dressed as the emergency goaltender for the Toronto Maple Leafs in three games.

"Jamie provided us with excellent goaltending last season, that allowed him to be called up to not only the St. John's franchise, but also the Toronto Maple Leafs. We are looking forward to the same kind of dominance and continual growth as a player that he provided last season, and expect this to begin Thursday night," Adduono said of his newest acquisition.

In order to make room on the roster, Greensboro released backup goaltender Martin Kresac. The Czech Republic native appeared in just one game for the Generals, where he allowed two goals, falling to (0-1-0) on the season.

Greensboro now returns to the Greensboro Coliseum on Thursday, December 11th, when they face the Gwinnett Gladiators for the second time this season. December 11th marks another Jack Astor's sponsored Thirsty Thursday, where fans will have the opportunity to purchase draft beer for $1.
