Eshelman continues his red hot second half tonight against the Bulls. Over his last 11 starts, Eshelman is just 1-5 but has a 3.39 ERA. Since earning his second win of the year on July 30, Eshelman is 1-2 with a 2.25 ERA and a .216 batting average against.
LAST GAME Jesmuel Valentin finished the game 2-4 with three RBI and a run scored. Danny Ortiz who went 1-4 with a run scored extended his hitting streak to eight games and is hitting over .500 during that time. Lehigh Valley had five players collect multi-hit games last night including Dean Anna, Valentin, Mitch Walding, Joey Meneses and Zach Green. The first four hitters in the lineup combined to go 8-14.
HEAD-TO-HEAD The Pigs have lost three of the last four season series to the Bulls but can guarantee a series split at the very least. Last season the Bulls took four of seven from the Pigs including two wins at Coca-Cola Park.
With the victory last night, the IronPigs' magic number to clinch the IL-North is 10. For each IronPigs win and RailRiders loss, the magic number will continue to decrease. The RailRiders were rained out last night but will play a double-header today against Indianapolis.
