Knights Drop Tuesday's Game to Bisons 14-5

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- The Charlotte Knights dropped Tuesday's game to the Buffalo Bisons by a score of 14-5 at BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte. The Bisons used a total of six home runs and 18 hits on the night to earn the victory. Buffalo first baseman Rowdy Tellez connected on two home runs.
Offensively for the Knights, first baseman Matt Skole launched his 12th home run of the season in the second inning. For Skole, it was his second home run in as many days and third in the month of August. Left fielder Eloy Jiménez, the top prospect in the Chicago White Sox organization, recorded an RBI single in the third inning for the Knights. Catcher Seby Zavala added a solo home run in the sixth inning. It was his second homer of the season with the Knights.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, center fielder Charlie Tilson singled home two runs. He finished the game with two hits and two RBIs.
Buffalo RHP Mike Hauschild (1-0, 3.60) earned the win after he allowed two runs on six hits over five innings of work. Charlotte RHP Asher Wojciechowski (5-8, 4.61) was saddled with the loss. He allowed eight runs on eight hits over 4.1 innings pitched.
The Knights will continue their seven-game homestand on Wednesday night at BB&T Ballpark and host the Bisons in the finale of their three-game series. Pre-game radio coverage of Wednesday's 7:04 p.m. game is set for 6:50 p.m. on 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte. The "Voice of the Charlotte Knights" Matt Swierad and long-time Knights radio broadcaster Mike Pacheco will have the call for all of the action.
