Lehigh Valley and Buffalo will play a doubleheader tonight beginning at 5:35 p.m.
PITCHING MATCHUP
Cole Irvin will start for the Pigs in game one followed by a pitcher to be named. Buffalo will send right-handers Sean Reid-Foley and Murphy Smith to the mound. The pitching matchup is presented by Allentown Family Foot Care, which provides the latest in medical and surgical treatments of the entire foot and ankle.
Making his 21st start of the year, Irvin is 9-3 with a 2.93 ERA. This is his second start of the year against the Bisons. Irvin tossed seven-scoreless innings while striking out eight May 12. Reid-Foley is the #10 prospect in the Blue Jays system. Promoted from NH in mid-May, Reid-Foley has not lost a start since June 21. Buffalo with send Smith to the bump in game two of the double-header. Smith has faced the Pigs twice this season out of the pen and is 0-1.
LAST GAME
Pigs wrapped up a record setting month of July with four home runs. They finish the month with 42 home runs which breaks the franchise record for home runs in a month. The record was set last May during the Pigs historic 24-5 month.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
The Pigs are 12-3 against the Bisons this season. The Pigs are undefeated at Coca-Cola Field after a two game sweep of Buffalo in June.
Lehigh Valley has won at least 10 games against the Bisons three times in franchise history. 2018 marks the first time that they have won at least 11 games.
NEXT AT COCA-COLA PARK
