Today's Game

This evening, the Bisons take on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in a double header, as part of a postponement from June 24. Following the series, Buffalo will head to PNC Field for a weekend series against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Rail Riders before an off-day on Monday. The Herd's second-last home stand will take place August 7-12 against the Gwinnett Stripers and the Toledo Mud Hens.

Last Game: BUF 8, LHV 11

RHP Nick Tepesch had his shortest outing of the season going 2.0IP, allowing 8H, 8R/ER, 1BB, 1SO, taking his sixth loss of the season. C Danny Jansen recorded his 11th home run of the season and now leads the Herd in home runs and RBIs with 54. 1B Rowdy Tellez went 2-4 at the plate with a double and 2 RBIs. RHP Conor Fisk allowed only 2 hits and struck out three in his three innings of work.

Lehigh Valley (3-12)

The Bisons have won the season series against Lehigh Valley five times in the franchise's 11-year history. The 'Pigs have won the season series three years in a row, including this season. Prior to Monday night's loss, the Bisons had never lost more than 10 games in a single year to Lehigh Valley. Buffalo's last season series win was in 2015 (10-8). Overall, Buffalo is 5-5-1 in the 11 season series with the IronPigs.

Game 1 Starter: RHP Sean Reid-Foley

RHP Sean Reid-Foley is looking to earn his first win against Lehigh Valley. In his only start against the IronPigs, Reid-Foley recorded a ND going 5.1 IP, 3H, 3R/ER, 9SO on 7/12. The righty's last outing came on 7/27 @IND where he went 5.1 IP, 8H, 3E/ER, 0BB, 2SO. Reid-Foley is 4-0 in the month of July with a 2.60 ERA allowing only 22 hits out of 122 batters faced.

Game 2 Starter: RHP Murphy Smith

RHP Murphy Smith is looking to pick up his second home win in today's double header. In the righty's last outing he went 5.0IP, 2H, R/ER, BB, 3SO @IND on 7/27. Smith has been a constant force in the Bisons' bullpen this season appearing in 17 games with 26.1 innings pitched recording 23 strikeouts so far this season.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

3B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. drew 3 walks before hitting a sac fly in the sixth inning for the Bisons. His first official at bat came on his last plate appearance last night where he grounded out in the eighth inning. The third baseman joined the Bisons roster after 61 games with New Hampshire (AA). Guerrero Jr. hit .402 for the Fisher Cats, amassing 94H, 14HR, 60RBI to earn a selection on the Eastern League All-Star Game. The third baseman had a hit in each of the seven games with the Fisher Cats after coming off of the Disabled List in July.

Transactions

Prior to Tuesday night's game 3B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was activated to the Bisons, along with OF Roemon Fields. Additionally, INF/OF Darnell Sweeney and RHP Brandon Cumpton were selected by the Toronto Blue Jays from the Herd's roster.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto's (48-58) lost their second game of a three-game series 6-2 against the Oakland Athletics Tuesday night. RHP Sam Gaviglio went 2.2 innings recording his fourth loss of the season allowing 8H, 5R/ER, 2BB, and striking out 2. 1B Justin Smoak hit his 17th long ball of the season. RHP Marcus Stroman will face off against LHP Sean Manaea in the final game of the series. The Blue Jays will travel to Seattle for a four-game series against the Mariners 8/2-8/5.
