
The Rox Walk Eleven Times in Willmar - Return the Rock Pile Tomorrow!

WILLMAR, MN - The St. Cloud Rox (7-3) dropped game two with the Willmar Stingers (6-2) in a close game Wednesday, June 7th, with a final score of 8-6. The Stingers are now tied for first in the Western Division with the Rox. Rox hitters collected 11 bases on balls in the afternoon, while their pitchers struck four Stingers out as well.
Kolby Gartner (St. Thomas) was the Rox starting pitcher for the 7:05 pm affair. He went two innings without allowing an earned run. He allowed only one hit in the process. Brandon Jaenke (Viterbo University) proceeded to throw three innings in relief after a trio of Gartner walks, striking out a batter whilst allowing five runs in the process. Chris Brown (Howard College) threw three scoreless to close the game, collecting three strikeout victims in the process, taking a majority of the strikeouts for Rox pitchers in the game.
Rox hitters shined in the back-and-forth affair. Ethan Navratil (St. Cloud State University) led the way with a pair of RBI singles in the 3rd and 5th innings. Navratil ended up 2-4 with two RBI's. Carson Keithley (Texas State) - in his first game for the Rox in 2023 - was a spark plug as well, representing two of the Rox runs, finishing 1-4 with a double.
Jackson Hauge (Minnesota State - Mankato) collected four walks - more than anyone in the afternoon - whilst producing an RBI in the process. John Nett (St. Cloud State University) shined in his 2023 debut too, collecting a pair of walks, finishing 1-3 with an impressive outfield assist as well. Ripken Reese (Kent State) also totaled a pair of walks in the contest.

The Rox return to the Rock Pile tomorrow - Thursday, June 8th, for a 7:05 pm first pitch against the Waterloo Bucks. There will be a poster schedule giveaway for the contest, presented by our partners, McDonald's meats and Rengel Printing Co.
