Kingfish Top Jackrabbits in Back and Forth Victory

Kokomo, IN. - The Kenosha Kingfish prevailed over the Kokomo Jackrabbits in a back and forth, extra-innings contest Thursday night.

With a total of 26 runs between the two teams, there was absolutely no short of offense in this matchup. Kenosha set a season record for runs scored in a game with 14.

Kenosha's star player at the plate was Vytas Valincius, who managed a 5 hit night with 3 RBIs. Valincius is currently hitting .368 over 38 at bats, and collecting 7 RBIs.

Kenosha was able to tie it up in the third inning due to on RBI from Valincius and two RBIs from Lance Trippel. From then on, it was a continuous offensive battle between the two teams. Kenosha was up 3 runs in the ninth when newcomer Brandon Nigh, a sophmore at Oakland University, sent one into the seats for a two-run shot. However, Kokomo scored 3 to tie it up in their half of the frame and sent this ballgame to extras.

The Kingfish were able to score 2 in the top of the tenth, and while the Jackrabbits managed a run of their own in the last half inning, Kenosha held on to win the game with a final score of 14-13 in 10 innings of play.

With this win, Kenosha climbs to only one game under .500 with a record of 5-6. They are tied with Kokomo for fourth place in the Great Lakes East division.

Kenosha will once again take on Kokomo on Friday night with first pitch at 6:05 p.m.
