Aberdeen IronBirds News Release
ABERDEEN-The Aberdeen IronBirds will celebrate the first Christmas in July at Ripken Stadium on Wednesday, July 30. With festive decorations adorning the concourse and Christmas music playing throughout the night, the holiday magic will be here once again.
The Salvation Army bell ringers will take donations along the concourse and have a booth on site for a food drive to benefit local families.
IronBirds account executives Jenna Raglani and Blake Chronister are responsible for organizing the event. "Christmas in July was originally intended to bring the holiday to the summer months at Ripken Stadium," said Raglani, "however, with the recent support of the Salvation Army, we're not only going to bring Christmas cheer into the stands, but provide a lot of support to local families through donations and the food drive sponsored by the Salvation Army."
The night will kick off with a pregame ceremony to introduce the new directors of the Salvation Army and bring awareness of the need for donations. A member of the organization will also be included in those throwing out ceremonial first pitches.
Season ticket holders will receive a free Ripken Stadium snow globe as they enter the stadium.
Christmas wouldn't be complete without a visit from Old Saint Nick. Santa Claus and Ferrous Claus will be at the ballpark to celebrate the holiday with all of the IronBirds' fans.
The Aberdeen IronBirds are the short-season Class-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles
