Texas Stars Weekly Release Stars Hit the Road for Three Games Out West

Last week's record: 2-1-0-0 Overall record: 4-3-1-0

CEDAR PARK, Texas - After a weekend sweep of the Ontario Reign, the Texas Stars migrate west this week for three games on the road beginning Wednesday in Arizona.

-- THIS WEEK'S SCHEDULE -- November 2 at Tucson Roadrunners, 9:05 CST: Wednesday will be the first-ever matchup between the Texas Stars and Tucson Roadrunners. The Roadrunners are the primary affiliate of the NHL's Arizona Coyotes and were relocated over the summer from Springfield, Mass. Rookie defenseman Kyle Wood currently leads the Roadrunners with eight points (2-68). The Roadrunners are currently the top team in the Pacific Division with a 4-1-0-0 start (.800 pct.).

November 4 at 9:00 p.m. CST and November 5 at 8:00 p.m. CST at Bakersfield Condors: The Stars will play a back-to-back set of road games against the Bakersfield Condors on Friday and Saturday. Texas swept the six-game season series against Bakersfield during the 2015-16 season. Stars forwards Justin Dowling and Travis Morin led all skaters with six points (1-56) while Jordan Oesterle led the Condors with five points (0-55). Texas netminder Maxime Lagace posted a .942 SV% in three meetings. The two teams will face off six times during the 2016-17 season.

-- LAST WEEK'S RESULTS -- October 25, 2016 vs. San Antonio Rampage, 4-2 Loss:

Matej Stransky scored late in the third to pull the Texas Stars within one, but the San Antonio Rampage skated away with a 4-2 victory on Tuesday night at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. Stransky's goal came with just over two minutes left in the third to make it a 3-2 Texas deficit, but that's as close as the Stars could get. The goal was Stransky's sixth point in as many games this season. Maxime Lagace suffered the loss for the Stars stopping 28 of 31 shots.

October 28, 2016 vs. Ontario Reign, 5-4 Win:

Julius Honka scored a pair of goals, and the Texas Stars penalty kill held up in the game's final minute, to secure a 5-4 win over the Ontario Reign on Friday night at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. Honka scored the opening goal and the game-winning goal of the night while Travis Morin also scored the 200th goal of his professional career. The Stars snapped their four-game winless skid with the win, and ended a seven-game drought against the Reign dating back to the start of last season. Maxime Lagace earned his third win in net with 27 saves.

October 29, 2016 vs. Ontario Reign, 2-1 Win:

Phil Desrosiers stopped 34 shots in his second start of the season, and Matej Stransky buried a power play goal in overtime to lead the Stars to a 2-1 win on Saturday night over the Ontario Reign at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. With the win, the Stars swept their weekend pair of games against the Reign. Stransky's winner was the lone power play goal in nine chances in the game for Texas. After losing their first seven matchups against the Reign dating back to last season, Texas has now won back-to-back games against their Pacific Division rival. Jack Flinn stopped eight of nine shots and suffered the loss in relief after Ontario goaltender Jonah Imoo left the game in the third with an injury. Imoo went 15 of 16 in net.

-- NEWS, NOTES AND UPCOMING MILESTONES -- Julius Honka (six games), Travis Morin (five games), Matej Stransky (five games) and Cole Ully (five games) are all riding individual point streaks for the Stars. Friday's game against Ontario was the 100th game in the professional career of Stars defenseman Nick Ebert. Morin also scored the 200th goal of his professional career on Friday. Justin Dowling was reassigned to Texas from the NHL's Dallas Stars on Saturday. Dowling appeared in his first two career NHL games, and tallied his first career NHL point with an assist in his debut. Texas has scored nine power play goals in their first eight games this season.

-- UPCOMING PROMOTIONS -- The Stars return home on November 11 and 12 for Military Appreciation Weekend when they host the San Jose Barracuda. Texas will wear specialty military-themed jerseys that can be bid on throughout the weekend in a silent auction. The auction winners will be able to pick up their jerseys and meet the player after Saturday's contest.

Friday is a Hat Trick Friday with the Stars where fans can enjoy $3 specials on beer and soda, and $4 specials on Robert Mondavi Private Selection Wine. Fans can also save $12 on a pair of tickets with a Texas Stars Two-Pack.

Saturday's game features a Military Rally Towel giveaway, courtesy of Re-Bath of Austin. Saturday is also a Texas Lottery Lucky Row Night where the first Stars player to score wins free scratch tickets for a lucky row of seats at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. Fans can also take advantage of Coke Zero Family Four-Packs on Saturday with four tickets, four hot dogs and four soft drinks starting at just $16 per person.
