
Tampa Bay Lightning Recall Slater Koekkoek

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled defenseman Slater Koekkoek from the Syracuse Crunch, Lightning vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced. Tampa Bay also reassigned defenseman Matt Taormina to the Crunch.
Koekkoek, 6-foot-2, 193 pounds, has played in five games with the Crunch after being assigned on October 19, recording two assists and seven shots on goal. He has skated in 12 career NHL games, all with the Lightning during the previous two seasons, posting one assist. He is yet to appear in a game with the Lightning this season. The 6-foot-2, 193-pound defenseman has appeared in 137 career AHL games with Syracuse, recording 10 goals and 43 points to go along with 70 penalty minutes.
Taormina was recalled on October 19 and did not appear in any game action with the Lightning. He has played in two games with Syracuse this season, posting one assist and five shots on goal. The 5-foot-9, 188-pound defenseman has played in 59 career NHL games, recording four goals and 12 points to go along with six penalty minutes. Last season, Taormina skated in three regular season games and three Stanley Cup playoff games with the Bolts.
