
Texas Recalls Korostin, Sends Neal To Idaho

Cedar Park, TX - The Texas Stars announced on Monday that left wing Michael Neal has been reassigned to Idaho of the ECHL. The team also announced that right wing Sergei Korostin has been recalled from Idaho, the Stars' primary ECHL affiliate.
Korostin played in four games with Idaho, scoring four goals and adding two assists for six points. The rookie winger also posted a +4 during his stint with the Steelheads. Korostin played in 32 games for the Stars this season, scoring nine goals and adding five assists for 14 points. The 20-year old also had 27 penalty minutes with a +6 rating. At the time of his recall, the Prokopievsk, Russia native was second among all AHL rookies with a 20.5 shooting percentage. The Dallas Stars selected Korostin in the third round (#64 overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Neal returns to the Steelheads after playing in one game for Texas over the past weekend. In all, the 20-year old has played in four games for Texas, going scoreless with a -2 rating. Prior to his recall, Neal scored four goals and added seven assists for 11 points with the Idaho Steelheads. Neal was drafted by Dallas in the fifth round (#149 overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. The Whitby, ON native is the younger brother of current Dallas Stars forward James Neal.
The Stars return home to host San Antonio, continuing the State Farm Lone Star Faceoff at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at Cedar Park Center. The first 3,000 fans receive a Texas Stars Puck Bottle Opener. The Stars will also host the Toronto Marlies at 7:30 PM on Friday, Jan. 15, handing out Texas Stars Fleece Blankets to the first 2,000 fans. Also, fans will be able to purchase $2.00 domestic drafts and $1.00 hot dogs. All games can be heard on the Stars flagship station ESPNAustin 104.9 FM "The Horn" or ESPNAustin 1530-AM.
