Matt Keetley Named Heat Player Of The Month

Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat is pleased to announce that Abbotsford Heat goaltender Matt Keetley has been named the Ronald Allen Clothiers-Abbotsford Heat Player of the Month for December. Keetley posted a 4-2 record for the month.

Keetley started the month with a shutout against the Toronto Marlies in a 3-0 Heat victory, and went on to stop 159 of the 169 shots he faced in his 6 appearances in December. He posted a 0.941 save percentage and a 1.83 GAA in the month.

In recognition of his achievement, Keetley was presented a certificate prior to our home game against Texas on January 8th for a custom fitted suit courtesy of Ronald Allen Clothiers.

Keetley is now 8-4-1-1 in 15 appearances for Abbotsford this season, with a 2.37 goals-against average and a.924 save percentage along with one shutout. The 23-year-old native of Medicine Hat, Alta., was a fifth-round draft choice (158th overall) by the Calgary Flames in 2005.

The Heat will ride a four game win streak into a busy week with four home games on the schedule. Tuesday & Wednesday against division rival the Manitoba Moose both 7:30pm starts then they will be back in action at the AESC Friday & Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche affiliate Lake Erie Monsters games start at 7:30 and 4:00 on Saturday.
