All-Star Banner Raising
January 11, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Portland Pirates News Release
The Portland Pirates raised two new banners to the Cumberland County Civic Center rafters today in preparation for the 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic being held January 18th and 19th.
The banners celebrate the upcoming 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic as well as the 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic held in Portland.
By hosting the 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic, the Pirates will become the first team to put on the modern All-Star event twice, and Portland will join Hershey (1954, 1959, 1996),
Providence (1956, 1995) and Rochester (1957, 2000) as the only cities all time to host multiple AHL All-Star Games. The 2003 AHL All-Star Classic was a celebration of 25 years of AHL hockey in Portland.
Tickets for the 2010 Time Warner Cable AHL All-Star Classic - which include admission to both the Ducks Unlimited Skills Competition and the AHL All-Star Game as well as an official commemorative All-Star Classic event program - are $49 (rows 1-12 in all sections) and $42 (rows 13-24 in all sections). To purchase tickets call (207) 775-3458, visit the Cumberland County Civic Center Box Office or go on-line at www.portlandpirates.com.
