Albany River Rats News Release
ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today details surrounding the club's promotional activities scheduled for a pair of home games this weekend against the Hershey Bears and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the Times Union Center.
The first 2,000 fans through the doors at Friday night's game will receive a free souvenir puck courtesy of Cargill. The 7:00 p.m. match-up against the defending Calder Cup Champions will also feature the popular Aramark Dollar Dogs promotion, where all fans can get $1.00 hot dogs and small sodas at select Times Union Center concession stands. Finally, the winner of the 2009-10 Battle of the Bands, presented by Success Recordings & Molson Canadian, will take the stage for the first time as the River Rats House Band.
Saturday's 5:00 p.m. game against the Sound Tigers is KidPower Night presented by MVP Health Care. The first 3,000 fans will get a free pair of MVP Thunderstix, and everyone will be treated to the Total Events Carnival, featuring over 12 carnival-style games complete with balloons and prizes on the Times Union Center Concourse. The American Red Cross will also return the Mystery Puck promotion, in which every River Rat player has signed a limited number of special-edition pucks that were then gift-rapped to cover the autograph from view. These "Mystery Pucks" will be sold on the concourse throughout the night for $10.00 each, with all of the proceeds benefiting the ARC of Northeastern NY.
