Texas Purchases Contract of RHP Ross Wolf; Reliever Cory Burns Rejoins Express

ROUND ROCK, Texas - After six starts with the Express, the contract of right-hander Ross Wolf has been purchased by the Texas Rangers, as announced by the club this morning. He is expected make his first career major league start today against the Oakland Athletics. In a corresponding move, RHP Cory Burns has been optioned back to Round Rock.

Wolf was 1-1 with a 1.85 ERA in six starts with the Express, including four quality starts. The right-hander did not surrender more than two earned runs in any of his outings and logged at least six innings in four of his six appearances.

Before being promoted to the Rangers, Burns had converted 8-of-9 saves with the E-Train while posting a 1.38 ERA in 14 appearances. The right-hander started the Triple-A season with a scoreless streak of 12.2 innings before surrendering two runs in his final game with the Express. With Texas, Burns logged a 4.91 ERA in three outings. He held opponents scoreless in his first two appearances (1.2 innings), but surrendered two runs in his final outing (2.0 innings vs. Oakland) on May 20.

Round Rock continues a four-game set with the Reno Aces tonight with Winning Wednesday at Dell Diamond. The evening's theme will be game show style contests all night long. The Express will send right-hander Lisalverto Bonilla (3-2, 7.36 ERA) to the mound to face off against Reno's Tyler Skaggs (3-5, 5.93 ERA).
