All nine members of the Memphis starting lineup had at least one hit and scored at least one run as the Redbirds rolled to a 17-6 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Wednesday night. Memphis jumped on Salt Lake starter A.J. Schugel for six runs in the first inning and three more unearned runs in the second to take a 9-0 lead. The Bees scored two runs in the second on a RBI triple by Scott Cousins and a run-scoring ground out by Trent Oeltjen, but the Redbirds answered with two runs in the third and three more in the fifth. Memphis was led by Brock Peterson, who had three hits, including a pair of two-run homers, and six runs batted in.

Schugel (1-3) took the loss as he allowed nine runs, six earned, on nine hits with one strikeout and no walks. In his first rehab appearance for the Bees, the Angels' Kevin Jepsen went one inning and allowed three runs on two hits, both of which were home runs, with one walk. Luis Rodriguez led the Bees with two hits, including a triple, and two runs batted in. Andrew Romine, Luke Carlin and Cousins would each add one hit and one RBI.

"We're out there to play for 27 outs, regardless of the score," said Bees manager Keith Johnson. "That's the type of thing that I talk to the guys about, and that's exactly what they did tonight."
