
Texas Continues Home Stand Tuesday at 7:30 P.M. with Grand Rapids

Cedar Park, TX - The Texas Stars went 2-1-0-0 over the past week, starting with a 5-4 overtime win at home against Grand Rapids on Wednesday. Friday night, the Stars picked up a 4-3 overtime win at Cedar Park Center over San Antonio. The Rampage countered with a 4-3 regulation win on Saturday night. Texas (27-29-2-2, 58 points) enters the week 12 points back of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Stars have 16 games remaining, including nine at Cedar Park Center and seven on the road.
This Week's Games
Texas faces off against the Grand Rapids Griffins on Tuesday, March 13th at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday is an H-E-B Night; fans may bring any H-E-B brand non-perishable food item to the box office and receive $5 off their ticket price. The Stars take on the Oklahoma City Barons on Friday, March 16th at 7:30 p.m. Friday's game, presented by Best Buy, is a 3-2-1 night featuring $3 domestic drafts, $2 sodas and $1 hot dogs. The first 2,500 fans to Friday's game will receive a player magnet courtesy of Time Warner Cable. The Stars remain home for a 7:00 p.m. faceoff against the Barons on Saturday, March 17th. Saturday features the State Farm Family Four Pack, consisting of four tickets, four sodas, and four hot dogs starting at $48. The first 2,500 fans at Saturday's game will also receive a Texas Stars t-shirt, presented by CTRMA. The Stars conclude a seven-game home stand on Monday, March 19th against the Abbotsford Heat at 7:30 p.m. Monday is an H-E-B Night, as fans may bring any HEB brand non-perishable food item to the box office and receive $5 off their ticket price

Grand Rapids 4 at Texas 5 OT 3/7/12
The Texas Stars defeated the Grand Rapids Griffins 5-4 in overtime in front of 4,716 fans at the Cedar Park Center on Wednesday. Stars' forward Michael Forney scored the game-winning-goal at 2:03 of overtime. Left wing Mike Hedden, Francis Wathier, Luke Gazdic and center Travis Morin scored for the Stars. Three Texas defensemen had multi-point nights. Jordie Benn, Dan Spang and Brenden Dillon each registered two assists in the win. Texas goalie Tyler Beskorowany stopped 31 of 35 shots in the win.
San Antonio 3 at Texas 4 OT 3/9/12
The Texas Stars defeated the San Antonio Rampage 4-3 in overtime in front of 4,893 fans at the Cedar Park Center on Friday. Stars' right wing Colton Sceviour scored the game-winning goal with 1:24 remaining in overtime. Left wing Mike Hedden had a goal and an assist. Left wing Matt Fraser and defenseman Dan Spang also scored for the Stars. Texas goalie Andrew Raycroft stopped 25 of 28 shots for the win.
San Antonio 4 at Texas 3 3/10/12
The Texas Stars were defeated by the San Antonio Rampage 4-3 in front of 6,575 fans at the Cedar Park Center on Saturday. San Antonio right wing Michal Repik scored the game-winning goal with six seconds remaining in the third. Left wing Luke Gazdic registered two assists on the night. Left wing Francis Wathier scored the game-tying goal in the third period. Center Angelo Esposito and left wing Matt Fraser also scored for the Stars.
