South Bend, Ind.-Joe Terry collected four hits and drove in three runs to lead the Dayton Dragons to a 6-3 victory over the South Bend Silver Hawks in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday night. The Dragons have won the first two games in the series. Game two of the doubleheader is currently underway.

The Dragons built a 4-0 lead over the first four innings. Jesse Winker's run-scoring single in the third got the scoring started and Terry delivered a two-run double in the fourth as the Dragons added to their lead. South Bend eventually pulled to within two runs at 5-3 but Terry added a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh to extend the Dragons lead to three runs again.

The Dragons finished with 12 hits in game one. Along with Terry's four-hit performance, Seth Mejias-Brean, Junior Arias, and Tanner Rahier each had two hits.

Dragons starting pitcher Sal Romano earned the game one victory. He worked five innings, allowing five hits and three runs with two walks and five strikeouts. Ben Klimesh replaced Romano and tossed the final two innings for his third save. Klimesh inherited a two-on, no out jam in the sixth but got a double play ball and a strikeout to work out of trouble, then pitched a scoreless seventh to close out the first game Dragons win.

The Dragons meet the Silver Hawks in game four of the five-game series on Sunday in South Bend at 2:05 p.m. Robert Stephenson (2-3, 4.05) will start for Dayton. All Dragons games can be heard on WONE Radio (980 AM) and via the internet at daytondragons.com and wone.com.

Notes: Terry's four-hit game was the first of the year for the Dragons. The Cal State Fullerton product joined the Dragons this week from the Reds Advanced-A affiliate at Bakersfield. He spent most of 2012 with the Dragons.
